Terms and conditions
Last updated: 26 October 2026
These terms explain how our free week and our monthly and yearly plans work, and your rights. Please read them before you sign up. If anything is unclear, just ask us.
1. Who we are
GCSE Tuition by KayScience is a trading name of Ahmed Khattab, a sole trader in England. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean Ahmed Khattab, trading as GCSE Tuition by KayScience. “You” means the parent or guardian who signs up.
You can contact us by email at [email protected] or by WhatsApp on 07522 665595.
2. What we provide
Live online GCSE Science group lessons on Zoom for students in Years 9, 10 and 11, taught by our tutors. The current timetable is on our timetable page and on your dashboard. Your child can join any lesson on the timetable. Lessons are group lessons, not one-to-one.
You must be 18 or over and the child’s parent or guardian to sign up. You are responsible for your child’s use of the lessons and of their login.
3. The free week
- Your free week lasts 7 days from your child’s first live lesson. Your dashboard shows the date it ends.
- You don’t need a card or any payment details to start it.
- It includes every live lesson on the timetable and 1 marked exam paper.
- Nothing is charged unless you choose a plan. If you don’t, your child’s access to the lessons simply stops when the free week ends, and you can choose a plan at any time after that.
- Each child can have one free week.
4. Plans and payment
- A GCSE Science plan costs £120 a month or £499 a year for each child. It includes every live lesson on the timetable, recordings of the lessons, 4 marked exam papers a month, and homework and revision on KayScience. Current prices are on our pricing page.
- These prices are for plans chosen on our website. If we have agreed a different arrangement with you directly, that arrangement applies instead.
- Payment is by card through Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your full card details.
- If you choose a plan during the free week, your first payment is taken when the free week ends. If you choose one after the free week has ended, your first payment is taken straight away.
- A monthly plan renews automatically every month, and a yearly plan every year, on the same date, until you cancel.
- Year 11: a Year 11 plan ends by itself after the last GCSE Science exam of that summer and is not renewed. A yearly plan for Year 11 can be chosen until 31 January of the exam year; after that, Year 11 plans are monthly.
- Switching from monthly to yearly: within 30 days of your first monthly payment (and before your second one), you can switch to the yearly plan from your dashboard. You pay the yearly price less what you have already paid, and your year runs from the day you switch.
- If a payment fails, we’ll let you know, and your child’s access may be paused until the payment is made.
5. Brothers and sisters
Brothers and sisters get 50% off their own plan. Message us and we’ll set it up. Each child has their own login and their own free week.
6. How to cancel
- You can cancel at any time, online, in Settings & billing on your dashboard (this opens our secure Stripe billing page), or by telling us by email or WhatsApp.
- Cancelling stops your plan renewing. Your child can keep joining lessons until the end of the month or year you have already paid for, and no further payments are taken.
- To stop during the free week, you don’t need to do anything unless you have chosen a plan.
7. Your 14-day right to cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, when you start a paid plan you have 14 days from that day to change your mind and cancel the contract, without giving a reason.
Because lessons are available straight away, when you choose a plan you are asking us to start providing lessons during those 14 days. If you then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you have paid, minus a proportionate amount for the lessons we provided up to the time you told us you were cancelling.
To use this right, tell us clearly by email or WhatsApp that you are cancelling. You can use the model cancellation form below, but you don’t have to. We will refund you to the card you paid with within 14 days of you telling us.

8. Refunds
Apart from your 14-day right to cancel, a payment covers the month or year it is for and is not refunded once that month or year has started – but nothing more is taken after you cancel. If we don’t provide the lessons we promised, contact us and we’ll put it right. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
9. Missed lessons
If your child misses a lesson, we can’t refund or credit it, but they can watch the recording and are welcome to join any other lesson on the timetable.
10. Changes to the timetable
We may change lesson days, times, topics or tutors from time to time. The current timetable is always on our website and your dashboard, and we’ll tell you about big changes in advance where we can. If we have to cancel a lesson, we’ll let you know as early as we can. If a change means the lessons no longer suit you, you can cancel as explained above.
11. Online safety and behaviour in lessons
- Lessons are live group lessons on Zoom. Please make sure your child joins from a suitable place and uses their own first name.
- Students must be polite and respectful to tutors and other students, and keep messages in the lesson chat about the lesson.
- Please don’t share lesson links or your child’s login, and don’t record, photograph or share lessons or other students’ details. Any recordings we provide in the lessons library are for your family’s own use only.
- We may remove a student from a lesson for poor behaviour. For serious or repeated problems we may end the plan; if we do, we’ll refund any payment for days not yet provided.
- If you have any concern about safety in a lesson, contact us straight away.
12. Our responsibility to you
We will provide the lessons with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable, for problems caused by your own internet connection, device or software, or for events outside our reasonable control.
We can’t promise particular exam grades – results depend on many things outside our lessons. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, for example for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Our lessons are for private, family use.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes in the law or in how we run our lessons. If a change affects you, including a change in price, we’ll tell you at least 14 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then if you don’t want to carry on. The date at the top shows when these terms last changed.
14. Your information
How we use your and your child’s information is explained in our privacy notice.
15. Complaints
If you are unhappy with anything, please tell us by email or WhatsApp and we’ll do our best to put it right quickly.
16. The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
